Professor Gavião

Early on

Gaviao first began studying capoeira in 1998 in Gainesville Florida under Corvo, a student of Mestre Acordeon. In early 2000 Gaviao had the opportunity to join Grupo Capoeira Brasil under Mestre Jelon and train with one of his top student, Instructor Aladin. Gaviao was awarded the rank of instructor by Mestre Jelon in 2005. He continued in Mestre Jelon group, Capoeira Luanda, through 2008.

In 2014 Gaviao be4gan teaching at Allied Capoeira League and in 2016 he was awarded rank of Professor by Mestre Aranha. He continued teaching classes at Allied Capoeira League, Gainesville through 2020.

Current

In late 2020 Professor Gavião relocated to Ocala, FL to begin a new capoeira project, Capoeira Vencedor.

Monitor Passarinho

Monitor Passarinho has been training capoeira since the Summer of 2004 under the guidance of Professor Gavião. Training with Professor Gavião, Monitor Passarinho learned the basic and advanced aspects of the art of capoeira while being supervised by Mestre Jelon and his higher ranked teachers. Monitor Passarinho originally started training capoeira with Professor Gavião under Mestre Jelon’s first group, Capoeira Brasil, he then had the experience with training with other group such as Capoeira Luanda (Mestre Jelon’s current group), Capoeira Nzambi, Capoeira Ascensão, Allied Capoeira League and Capoeira Massapê. Monitor Passarinho has had previous experience teaching capoeira while at Capoeira Luanda but it was while teaching Capoeira at the Allied Capoeira League where Monitor Passarinho gained the bulk of his teaching experience. While being a part of Allied Capoeira League, Monitor Passarinho has assisted Professor Gavião in teaching his classes and had eventually gone on his own to teach capoeira classes at Allied Capoeira League. While at Capoeira Brasil and Capoeira Luanda, Monitor Passarinho went from raw cord to orange cord and when at Allied Capoeira League Monitor Passarinho earned all of the cord in the advanced level which are black and green, black and blue, black and purple, black and brown, and black and red, which is the graduate level cord presented to him by Professor Gavião in 2017. Then, in December 2019 Monitor Passarinho was presented the Monitor cord by Professor Gavião. Monitor Passarinho continues to train capoeira and is looking to win a capoeira tournament before the age of 40, everyday he continues to advance his skills.
